Hella Cocktail Co. was started in 2011 by three friends, Jomaree Pinkard, Eddie Simeon and Tobin Ludwig, who bonded over gathering, celebrating and craft cocktailing, and the company remains proudly minority-owned. The brand's rule from the start has been real ingredients, and the Orange Bitters show it best: Hella makes them from real orange skins rather than orange extract or flavoring, then layers in an aromatic spice blend so the result is orange-forward but dynamic and full-bodied instead of thin or candied. Hella designed this formula to hold up on a demanding cocktail menu, and it covers a lot of ground behind the bar. A dash or two is the classic finish for a Dry Martini or a Martinez, brightens an Old Fashioned made with rye or aged rum, and adds lift to a Negroni, Boulevardier or Margarita.
