Hibiki Japanese Harmony 100th Anniversary Limited Edition Whisky was released in 2023 to celebrate a century of Suntory whisky-making, from the founding of the Yamazaki distillery in 1923. The 24-faceted Hibiki bottle wears a special anniversary design, and inside is Hibiki Japanese Harmony, the master blender's marriage of malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu with grain whisky from Chita, aged in five cask types including American white oak, sherry and mizunara, and bottled at 43% ABV.
The profile is luminous and delicate: rose, lychee and a hint of rosemary on the nose with mature sandalwood, a palate of honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel and white chocolate, and a subtle, tender, long finish with a whisper of mizunara. It is superb neat and makes a refined highball.
