Hussong's takes its name from Hussong's Cantina in Ensenada, Baja California, the bar historically cited as operating since 1892 and one of the best-known cantinas in Mexico. The tequila line built on that name is 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, imported and bottled for the U.S. market by McCormick Distilling Co. of Weston, Missouri, and it runs from blanco through reposado to this añejo. As an añejo, it has spent at least a year in oak, which gives it a golden amber color and pulls the profile toward the barrel's softer, sweeter side. It's bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The Beverage Testing Institute reviewed it in 2025 and scored it 87 points with a silver medal, describing aromas and flavors of coconut cake, flan and caramel popcorn, a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body, and a finish of nougat and vanilla cream. Their summary called it a pleasant, easy-drinking, lighter-styled añejo for sipping, and recommended it neat or on the rocks. That lighter frame also makes it a good choice for an añejo Old Fashioned, where it won't overpower the bitters, or for anyone stepping from reposado into aged tequila for the first time.
