Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto
Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto is the liqueur that revived rosolio, the rose-petal and citrus cordial served at the court of the House of Savoy in the 18th century as the "aperitivo di corte." Created by bartender Giuseppe Gallo in 2016, it is built on Calabrian bergamot, the fragrant citrus behind Earl Grey tea, along with Sicilian cedro, chamomile, lavender, gentian, yellow roses, and Melissa balm.
It is bright, floral, and delicately sweet with a gentle bitter edge and a clean finish at 20% ABV. The signature serve is the Italicus Spritz: three parts prosecco to one part Italicus with three green olives. It also shines in a Bergamot Negroni, a Martini variation, or simply on ice with tonic.
