Izarra Green Liqueur
Izarra Green is a 750ml, 40% ABV herbal liqueur from the French Basque Country, founded in 1906 in Hendaye by pharmacist Joseph Grattau. Izarra means "star" in Basque, and the liqueur is built on a blend of plants, spices and Armagnac in the tradition of the great French monastery liqueurs.
Green almond in color, it opens with fresh notes of menthol and camphor and a hint of spice, and the palate strikes a good balance between freshness and the intensity of the plants. Sip it neat or on the rocks as a digestif, or use it as a Basque stand-in for Green Chartreuse in a Last Word.
