Jodhpur Mandore Gin
Jodhpur Mandore Gin is a citrus-led distilled gin from Beveland Distillers of Spain, part of a range named for the blue city of Rajasthan and its Mandore Gardens. It takes the Jodhpur Dry Gin base and layers on five citrus botanicals: calamansi, Buddha's hand, bitter orange, orange peel and lime. It is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) and won a Gold medal at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The producer describes a dry, elegant nose that is aromatic, intense and fresh with juniper, lime and orange, then a very smooth, unctuous palate of citrus zest, juniper, ginger and coriander with a slightly sweet, long, balsamic finish. It is a natural for a G&T with a wedge of orange or a Gimlet, and the Buddha's hand and calamansi make it a great match for a spritz-style long drink on a warm afternoon.
