It is made from 100% corn distillate steeped and distilled with hand-foraged Oregon juniper, smoky harissa, figs, fresh mint, lemon, hops and hibiscus, and bottled at 57% ABV (114 proof), the strength at which gin would still ignite gunpowder aboard a Royal Navy ship.
Drinkhacker awarded it an A (9.5/10), describing raisin, licorice, wildflowers and fresh lemon zest on the nose, a rich-textured palate of candied lemon peel, tropical fruit, tangy red pepper and fig, and a finish of black licorice and shortbread. The reviewer called it remarkable enough that mixing it felt almost wasteful. It is superb in a Negroni or a Martinez, and if you like high-proof gin, it deserves a try neat.
