Kapriol Sloe Gin starts from the same Dry Gin base as the rest of the range — juniper rested in wheat spirit for fifteen days before a first distillation in copper stills dating back to World War II — but takes a sweeter turn from there, folding in wild sloe berries alongside the full alpine botanical bill: bay leaf, angelica, chamomile, cardamom, caraway, coriander, gentian, lavender, hops, mint, oregano, mugo pine, rosehip, and rosemary. The result carries fresh, red-fruit aromatics reminiscent of flowering mountain woods on the nose, with the tart character of wild sloe balanced by hops' mild bitterness on the palate. Compared to Kapriol's other expressions, this one runs lower in sugar than a typical English sloe gin, keeping the flavor tasty and aromatic rather than syrupy, and the total absence of citrus means it mixes easily.
