Kings County Spiced Whiskey
Kings County Spiced Whiskey is the Brooklyn distillery's grown-up answer to cinnamon whiskey. It starts with Kings County Moonshine, the distillery's unaged corn whiskey made from 80% New York State organic corn and 20% malted barley and double distilled on Scottish copper pot stills in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. A full tank of that moonshine is then infused with seven winter spices: cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla bean, allspice, black peppercorns, clove and star anise. The infusion runs one to two months depending on the weather, and the finished whiskey is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). The distillery recommends it in hot cider, toddies and eggnog, or anywhere a cinnamon whiskey would normally go but with more depth and less sweetness. Kings County Distillery was founded in 2009 by Colin Spoelman and David Haskell, is New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery since Prohibition, and was named Distillery of the Year by the American Distilling Institute in 2016; it celebrated its one-millionth bottle in 2026.
