Las Californias Nativo Gin
Las Californias Nativo Gin comes from Baja California and celebrates the botanicals that grew across the California-Mexico region before human settlement: kelp, hops, artemisia, damiana, sage and wild berries over a juniper base. It is bottled at 42% ABV (84 proof).
Paste Magazine described a perfumy, resinous, herbal nose and a grassy, woody, exotic palate that evokes a California forest, likening it to gin crossed with Yellow Chartreuse, with moderate bitterness balancing a little residual sweetness. That herbal, coastal character makes it a superb Martini gin with a lemon twist, a striking Negroni, and an unusual G&T with a sprig of sage. It is the more complex of the two Las Californias gins, and one of the most distinctive gins to come out of the border region.
