Leadslingers Bourbon Whiskey
Leadslingers Whiskey was founded in 2013 by seven combat veterans from Article 15, a Texas-based group whose members served as US Army Rangers, Green Berets, paratroopers, and Air Force Tactical Air Control Party specialists. The first release was produced with Scissortail Distillery in Moore, Oklahoma, and reached shelves in 2015. The bourbon is made from a mash bill of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% barley, double distilled, and aged in small, heavily charred barrels, a method that pulls color and oak into the spirit faster than full-size casks and gives a young bourbon more weight than its age would suggest. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The brand describes hints of oak, toffee, and vanilla on a light, easy-drinking bourbon profile that mixes sophistication with down-home flavor. It's built as a pour-anywhere whiskey: neat, over ice, in a highball with ginger ale, or in a whiskey sour, and the veteran ownership behind the label makes it a natural gift for anyone who has served.
