Letherbee Distillers Charred Oak Absinthe Brun
Letherbee Distillers Charred Oak Absinthe Brun is a 750ml, 63% ABV barrel-rested absinthe from Letherbee, the craft distillery in Chicago, Illinois. Brun means brown, and this bold departure from the classic verte takes Letherbee's anise, fennel and wormwood absinthe and finishes it with charred oak for a rich, deep hue.
The oak lends subtle smokiness, warmth and gentle sweetness that play against the herbal complexity, and it still louches to an opalescent cloud with water. Serve it the traditional way with iced water, or use it in a Sazerac where the oak notes marry with rye.
