Lochlea Harvest Edition First Crop Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Lochlea Harvest Edition is the autumn release in the seasonal series from the South Ayrshire farm distillery where Robert Burns lived and worked from 1777 to 1784. Each season's edition follows the farming calendar, and Harvest celebrates the barley coming in with a fruit-forward, mixed-cask style. The First Crop is the debut edition, bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle.
Made entirely from barley grown on the estate and distilled under former Laphroaig master distiller John Campbell, it opens with freshly mown hay and barley fields with orchard fruit and a touch of vanilla, then a smooth palate of ripe pear, green apple, toasted oak, honeyed malt and citrus, finishing crisp and satisfying with gentle sweetness and malt. The first Harvest Edition ever released, it is a collector's piece for fans following Lochlea's seasonal story from the beginning.
