Lochlea Ploughing Edition is the smoky chapter in the seasonal series from the South Ayrshire farm distillery where Robert Burns lived and worked from 1777 to 1784. Each season's edition follows the farming calendar, and Ploughing, when the fields are turned, brings a gentle peat smoke. The First Crop was matured in ex-Islay barrels and peated quarter casks and bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle.

Made entirely from barley grown on the estate and distilled under former Laphroaig master distiller John Campbell, it opens with peat smoke, sea salt and coastal brine over orchard fruit and oak on the nose, then a rich, smoky palate where Islay peat and toasted oak meet ripe fruit, vanilla, toffee and baking spice, finishing long with lingering smoke. A Lowland malt with an Islay accent and a collector's piece for fans of Lochlea's seasonal story.
