McBride Sisters Collection Reserve Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
McBride Sisters Collection was started by two sisters who grew up on different continents and set out to build their own wine tradition, drawing fruit from the Central Coast of California and New Zealand. Their Reserve tier is limited-production wine made from vineyards tied to their childhood homes, and this Pinot Noir comes from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. Recent vintages grow on Chualar sandy loam over granitic schist, use clones 858 and 115, ferment in small lots and age about ten months in French oak with a light share of new barrels. Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, the wine leads with crushed raspberry, rhubarb and candied cherry aromas. The palate is silky and fruit-driven, with lush red fruit, a hint of spice and a soft, rounded finish. Serve it lightly chilled with roast chicken, salmon or grilled sausages. It is an approachable, nicely textured Pinot Noir that works as a dinner pour or a thoughtful gift. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
