Mermaid Pink Gin takes the Isle of Wight Distillery's original Mermaid Gin and infuses it with fresh island-grown strawberries, giving it a natural rosy blush with no artificial color or added sugar. The base gin is made in Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, by founders Xavier Baker and Conrad Gauntlett: ten botanicals including juniper, coriander, Sicilian lemon zest, angelica, elderflower, grains of paradise, locally grown Boadicea hops and hand-foraged rock samphire are macerated in grain spirit and distilled in a copper column still before the strawberry infusion. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), 750ml, in a plastic-free bottle from a certified B Corp distillery. The producer describes aromatic strawberries, fresh citrus and gentle juniper on the nose, a vibrant berry palate with warm spice and a hint of sea air from the samphire; Master of Malt's notes add liquorice root and coriander emerging late. It won Silver at the 2022 London Spirits Competition. Serve it long with a premium tonic and fresh strawberries, top it with prosecco for a coastal spritz, or shake it into a Clover Club.
