Mistral Añejado en Roble Gran Pisco 46º is an oak-aged pisco from Mistral, the Chilean house based in Pisco Elqui, the Elqui Valley village where pisco was first distilled in Chile at the turn of the 17th century. It is made from aromatic Muscat grapes grown in the Elqui and Limarí valleys, distilled and then matured in oak barrels, and bottled at 46% ABV, the Gran Pisco strength.
The oak adds vanilla, toffee and gentle spice to pisco's naturally floral, grapey character. Expect Muscat and orange blossom on the nose, a rich palate of ripe fruit, honey and toasted wood, and a long, warm finish. Chileans sip it neat like a brandy; it also makes an exceptional Pisco Sour or a pisco Old Fashioned.
