Naked Diablo is a Jalisco tequila brand built by the Fitzpatrick family and their partners, produced under NOM 1438 and made without additives. The brand draws its blue Weber agave from both the Highlands and the Lowlands of Jalisco. Production splits the difference between old and new as well: agave is cooked in traditional stone-masonry ovens alongside autoclaves, and the distillery uses natural volcanic spring water and runs as a zero-waste facility. The blanco base is distilled twice. For the Añejo, that tequila is aged a minimum of 16 months in barrels that previously held bourbon for ten years, which gives it a light amber color and a fuller body than the brand's 10-month reposado. The brand's own notes describe a full-bodied añejo balancing bourbon, honey drizzle, peppercorn, toffee, agave, wood and hints of vanilla. It's bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Sip it neat or with a single large cube, or use it in a tequila Old Fashioned, where the bourbon-barrel character carries the drink.
