Neyers Roberts Road Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Neyers Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery founded by Bruce and Barbara Neyers, with a winery in Sage Canyon built around 1999 and 2000 and a focus on traditional, low-intervention winemaking. Alongside its Conn Valley estate fruit, Neyers buys grapes from trusted growers, and Roberts Road is one of its single-vineyard Pinot Noir sites on the Sonoma Coast, a cool, windswept part of the county where fog and ocean air keep acidity high. Fruit is hand-picked and sorted, and the winery uses French barrels made from wood air-dried for three years. Bottled at 14.1% alcohol, the wine shows the bright red cherry, raspberry and gentle spice that mark Pinot Noir from this part of Sonoma, along with a savory edge and moderate tannins that make it easy to pair. It works well with roasted chicken, pan-seared salmon, duck breast with berry sauce or a plate of grilled mushrooms. Serve it lightly cooled and decant briefly if you open it young. It is a good option for readers of Sonoma Coast Pinot who want a producer with a long track record. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
