Palm Republic began with a trip to the Caribbean twenty years ago, when actor Eric Winter shared a bottle of local aged rum with his future father-in-law and got hooked — a two-decade obsession that eventually became this brand, launched in 2024 with entrepreneurs Andy Miller and Andrew Pruett, and inspired in part by Winter's wife, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actress Roselyn Sánchez. The Aged expression blends rums from Panama, Jamaica, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, matured up to eight years in sherry casks, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV). It's picked up serious hardware for a young brand: a Platinum Medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Platinum at the 2025 SIP Awards. Expect a rich, layered profile of dark chocolate, caramel, and molasses opening into muscovado sugar, gingerbread, and baking spice, finishing smooth and full-bodied — the brand describes it as delivering the complexity of a bourbon in a rum package.
