Patz & Hall Burnside Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Patz and Hall makes single-vineyard Pinot Noir from top Sonoma County sites, and the Burnside Vineyard bottling comes from the Russian River Valley, where morning fog and cool evenings give the grapes depth of flavor with a core of acidity. The wine leans into a ripe and plush style. Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, it opens with a luscious wave of raspberry and boysenberry puree, laced with singed anise, mulling spice and black tea notes that add range and depth through the finish. The texture is soft and generous, which makes the wine feel richer than its moderate alcohol suggests, and it should please fans of a showy, fruit-driven style of Pinot Noir. With a few years of age behind it, the wine is in a good place for drinking now and through the next few years. Production is small, with a few hundred cases made, so it is not a bottle that appears everywhere. Pair it with roast duck, glazed pork tenderloin, grilled salmon or a mushroom and thyme tart. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
