Peychaud's Aperitivo is a 750ml, 11% ABV American aperitivo from the Sazerac Company of New Orleans, inspired by the flavors of Peychaud's Bitters, the Creole bitters created by apothecary Antoine Peychaud in the 1830s. It is a lower-proof, wine-based take on the Italian bitter aperitivo with a New Orleans accent.
Clear light rusty red with bright glints, it offers zesty orange and grapefruit over herbal notes, with a light, subtle, bittersweet palate of bitter orange, grapefruit sherbet, rooty herbs and faint clove, and a lingering citrus finish. Serve it in a spritz, over ice with soda, or in a lighter Negroni.
