Porter's Orchard Gin

Porter's Orchard Gin is made by Porter's Gin in Aberdeen, Scotland, a brand founded by bartenders Alex Lawrence, Ben Iravani and Josh Rennie and launched from the basement of their bar. The team worked with scientists at the University of Aberdeen to build a vacuum still, so the fruit is cold-distilled at low pressure and low temperature, which keeps its fresh character intact rather than cooking it. The gin starts with a classic juniper-led base, then adds cold-distilled green apples and pears plus a soybean distillate for balance and a nutty, biscuity note; a red apple extract gives it a pale golden colour. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750ml bottle.
