R. Jelínek Amaro is a Czech herbal bitter liqueur from R. Jelínek of Vizovice in Moravia, the family distillery famous for slivovitz since 1894. It was created in the region near the ancient spa town of Luhačovice from an original formula of assorted herbs macerated in neutral spirit.
A perfect mixture of lemon and orange flavors combines with the herbs to create a distinctive bittersweet taste that is lighter and more citrusy than many Italian amari. Sip it neat or on the rocks after dinner, top it with soda or tonic, or use it in a spritz.
