Region de Mexico Blanco Tequila
Región de México Blanco is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made at NOM 1494 in the Tequila Valley (Los Valles) side of Jalisco, the lowland zone that produces earthier, more mineral tequila than the sweeter highlands. The production sheet reads like a traditional valley house: the piñas are cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented in stainless steel tanks without fibers, and distilled twice in a stainless pot still, with natural spring water used for proofing and an activated-carbon bath before bottling at 40% ABV (80 proof). It is unaged, so what you get is the cooked agave itself with nothing from a barrel on top of it. Tasters on Tequila Matchmaker, where the Blanco took a silver at the 2025 Agavos Awards, most often pick out raw and cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, grass, fresh flowers and a touch of mint on the nose, with raw agave, black pepper and minerals carrying the palate, and describe it as a bright, agave-forward blanco built for highballs, Palomas and margaritas rather than long contemplation.
