Teky Lady's Plata
Teky Lady's is a 100% agave tequila brand made in the Tequila Valley (Los Valles) region of Jalisco at the distillery registered as NOM 1466, and it is best known for the hand-made ceramic decanters it sells its añejo in. The Plata is the unaged entry in the line, bottled straight off the still without any barrel time, so it is the clearest look at how the distillery actually makes the spirit. That process is the conventional valley method used across the brand: blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens rather than autoclaves, crushed on a roller mill, fermented from 100% agave juice in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in stainless steel pot stills, then proofed to 40% ABV (80 proof) and bottled clear. The aged expressions from the same distillery run sweet and caramel-forward, and the Plata is the one to reach for when you want the agave without the barrel. It is the brand's working tequila for Margaritas, Palomas and Ranch Water, and the lowest-priced way into the range for anyone curious what the spirit under the ceramic-decanter añejos tastes like on its own.
