Teky Lady's Reposado Tequila
Teky Lady's is a 100% agave tequila brand made in the Tequila Valley (Los Valles) region of Jalisco at the distillery registered as NOM 1466, and it is best known for the hand-made ceramic decanters it sells its añejo in. The Reposado sits between the Plata and the Añejo and is made like the rest of the line: blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented from 100% agave juice in stainless steel tanks, double distilled in stainless steel pot stills, rested in oak and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Tequila Matchmaker notes earlier bottlings carried NOM 1258, so the brand has moved distilleries at least once. Reviewers there describe it as sweet and caramel-forward with a slight warmth on the back end, and more than one remarked that it tastes closer to an añejo than a typical reposado, which suggests a longer rest than the two-month minimum the category requires. If you like reposados on the sweeter, oak-driven side, this fits; if you want a bright, agave-forward one with a kiss of wood, look elsewhere. It works neat, on the rocks, or in a reposado Margarita.
