Telson Blanco Tequila
Telsón is a tequila brand launched in January 2022 by Romero Brands, a Las Vegas-based beverage startup, with three expressions (Blanco, Reposado and Añejo) built around 100% Weber Blue agave from the Highlands of Jalisco. The brand's first agave crop was planted on three acres at Hacienda Capellanía in San José de Gracia at 6,194 feet, and the neck label carries the farm's coordinates. The agave is harvested and trimmed close, cooked slowly, crushed on a roller mill, fermented in stainless steel tanks without fibers using deep well water, and distilled twice in small batches, then bottled unaged at 40% ABV (80 proof); the label has carried NOM 1545 and more recently NOM 1589. Romero describes the Blanco as crystal clear with a sweet vanilla aroma and delicate agave undertones, and a balanced taste with a refreshing finish. Drinkhacker rated it B+ and found it soft, sweet and creamy, with vanilla, milk chocolate and cinnamon the reviewer compared to churros, a finish of cinnamon, lemon curd and green agave, and noted it drinks more like a cristalino than a typical blanco. It is an approachable sipper for people who find most blancos sharp, and a smooth Margarita base.
