Tequila Gran Diamante Extra Añejo is the oldest expression from Royal Ventures Group, the company co-founded by CEO Rafi Hannouche in 2015 that launched its first three tequilas in 2020 and brought NBA star James Harden in as a minority owner in May 2022. The brand is distilled and bottled by Compañía Tequilera de Arandas, NOM 1460, in Arandas, Jalisco, with Gilberto Jasso as master distiller, using 100% blue Weber agave from the red volcanic soil of the Los Altos highlands. Production follows the house method: high-pressure autoclave cooking, roller mill extraction, open-air fermentation in stainless steel without fibers using a decades-old proprietary yeast, double distillation in a copper pot still and deep well water for proofing. Where the añejo spends 18 months in French oak, the extra añejo is aged at least three years in select oak barrels, well past the category minimum, which gives it deep caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak and baking spice and a soft, velvety finish per the brand's own description. It comes in the same perfume-inspired bottle on an inverted pyramid base that defines the line, which makes it as much a gift and display piece as a sipping tequila.
