Tolosa Central Coast Pinot Noir
Tolosa is an Edna Valley producer in San Luis Obispo County, founded by Robin Baggett in 1998 and focused on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This Central Coast bottling is a multi-county blend that reflects that coastal Pinot style. Bottled at 13.4% alcohol, it is medium bodied and built around focused red fruit, with flavors of cranberry, strawberry and red currant. Savory notes of sun-dried tomato, rhubarb and dusty earth run through the palate and keep the wine from tasting sweet or heavy. The result is a bright, food-friendly red that suits a weeknight dinner as easily as a gathering. Try it with grilled salmon, roast chicken, or a margherita pizza, where its acidity and tomato-leaf character work alongside the dish. It also pairs well with herbed pork tenderloin and mild cheeses such as Gruyere. A short chill of about fifteen minutes before opening will bring out the red fruit. 750ml bottle.
