Torabhaig Taigh Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first permanent core expression from Torabhaig Distillery — the first new single malt distillery to open on the Isle of Skye in nearly 200 years. Built within a beautifully restored 1820s farmstead on the rugged Sleat Peninsula, Torabhaig was founded in 2016 by Mossburn Distillers and has quickly earned its place among the most exciting new distilleries in Scotland. Taigh — meaning "house" in Scottish Gaelic — is the purest expression of the distillery's signature style: Smoke with Taste. Matured in a carefully considered combination of first-fill bourbon barrels, refill bourbon casks, and select Madeira casks, this non-chill-filtered, naturally colored whisky strikes a beautiful balance between gentle coastal peat and layered sweetness. The nose opens with seaside embers, flint smoke, baked apple pie, and maple syrup, giving way to a smooth, lightly oily palate of vanilla custard, toasted almond, sweet dried fruits, and elegant smoke, finishing warm and lingering with cinnamon, clove, candied citrus, and a welcoming peated glow. Bottled at 46% ABV, Taigh is the Isle of Skye in a glass — bold yet inviting, rugged yet refined.
