Tullamore D.E.W. 14 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is the age-stated single malt from the Tullamore Distillery in County Offaly, which brought whiskey-making back to the town where D.E.W. was born in 1829. Triple distilled from malted barley, it is matured fourteen years in bourbon casks and then finished in four different casks, Oloroso sherry, Port, Madeira and bourbon, before bottling at 41.3% ABV (82.6 proof).
The four-cask finish layers dried fruit, honey and nutty sweetness over a base of ripe orchard fruit and vanilla, with a smooth, complex palate of toffee, citrus and light oak spice and a long, mellow finish. It is a whiskey for sipping neat.
