Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka is the apple flavor from Van Gogh Vodka, the Dutch brand made at the Dirkzwager distillery in Schiedam, Holland and named for the painter. "Appel" is the Dutch spelling, and the flavor is made by infusing real apples into a wheat vodka base and redistilling in small batches for a crisp, orchard-fresh taste. Bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The flavor is crisp, sweet-tart apple with a clean, smooth finish, closer to biting into a fresh apple than to an apple candy. Mix it with ginger ale or ginger beer for an apple mule, shake it into an appletini, add it to cranberry juice, or serve it chilled as a shot.
