WhistlePig FarmStock Beyond Bonded Rye Whiskey is WhistlePig's most ambitious release: a true grain-to-glass straight rye grown, distilled, aged and bottled entirely at the WhistlePig Farm and Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. The mash is 100% Danko rye grown in the farm's own fields, the water comes from the farm's well, and the barrels are made from sustainably harvested Vermont estate oak.
Beyond Bonded means it meets and exceeds the Bottled-in-Bond standard. Every barrel was aged a minimum of four years and 29 days, with some maturing up to four years, six months and 17 days, and the whiskey was hand-bottled in March 2024 at 100 proof. The Whiskey Wash rated the 2023 release 8 out of 10, describing a medley of state-fair flavors: salt, toffee, buttery roasted corn, caramel apple and kettle chips on the nose with red fruit and fresh mint, then toasted grain, malt, oak, tobacco, green grass, black pepper and smoke on the palate, and a medium-to-long earthy finish, noting it holds up well on ice.
