Woodinville 10 Year Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Woodinville 10 Year Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the oldest bourbon the Washington distillery has released and the final chapter of the limited-edition age-stated series that began with the 8 Year in 2024 and the 9 Year in 2025. Founded in 2010 by Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile with the late Maker's Mark master distiller David Pickerell as their mentor, Woodinville Whiskey Co. mashes, ferments and distills in Woodinville, just outside Seattle, from grain grown for the distillery on the Omlin family farm in Quincy, in Central Washington, then trucks the new-make barrels back over the Cascades to its own rickhouses in Quincy, where the hot summers and freezing winters of the high desert drive the whiskey deep into the oak, a split the label calls dual terroir, single origin. The 10 Year uses a higher-rye mash bill of 55% corn, 35% rye and 10% malted barley, more rye than the flagship bourbon, and was aged in barrels developed with Independent Stave Company from staves seasoned roughly two years before coopering. Bottled at 100 proof, each bottle is individually numbered, and the producer describes rich oak, dark caramel, dried fruit and warm baking spice on the nose, a full, concentrated palate of brown sugar, toasted oak, dried fruit and rye spice, and a long, warming finish of oak and spice. A decade-old, 100-proof straight bourbon from the Pacific Northwest at this proof is rare; pour it neat.
