Wyoming Whiskey 10 Years Anniversary Edition Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Wyoming Whiskey's 10 Year Anniversary Edition is the oldest bourbon the Kirby, Wyoming distillery has released, batched from 20 of the rarest casks in its warehouses, all filled in November and December 2011, and bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV) with a stated age of 10.5 years. It marks a decade since Brad and Kate Mead, whose family came to Wyoming as cattle ranchers in 1890, and attorney David DeFazio launched their flagship Small Batch bourbon, having recruited Bourbon Hall of Famer Steve Nally from Kentucky to be founding distiller because they had the land, water and grain of the Bighorn Basin and needed someone who knew how to turn it into whiskey. Nally and master blender Nancy Fraley batched this release. The mashbill is 68% corn, 20% rye and 12% malted barley. The distillery describes deep copper to mahogany color, a nose of rye Manhattan, brandied cherries, medjool dates, cayenne-candied pecans and baklava with orange-blossom honey, a palate of candied yams, toasted marshmallow, black currant liqueur, cornbread with honey butter and cinnamon toast, a soft, warming mouthfeel with caramelized wood sugar and a rye-spice tingle, and a finish of dark dried fruit and brown baking spice.
