Yamato is a blend of malt and Yamanashi grain whisky aged in mizunara oak, not chill filtered. Expect toasted honeycomb, toffee and vanilla on the nose, a rich, rounded palate of barley sweetness, nougat and hazelnut with the sandalwood spice of Japanese oak, and a soft vanilla-and-oak finish. It drinks well neat or on a large cube.
