Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix is the best-selling Bloody Mary mix in the United States, made by Zing Zang, a Chicago company founded in 1997 whose mixes are now stocked in more than 200,000 retail and on-premise locations nationwide. The recipe is the one the company has run for its entire history: a proprietary blend of seven real vegetable juices and a complex array of bold spices and seasonings, which is why it pours thicker than tomato-juice-and-hot-sauce mixes. It is non-alcoholic, so the bottle is ready to pour: fill a pint glass with ice, add a shot and a half of vodka, top with Zing Zang, stir, and garnish with celery, olives, a pickle spear or whatever the fridge offers; swap the vodka for blanco tequila and you have a Bloody Maria, or use mezcal for a smoky version. Beyond brunch it makes a quick red beer with a Mexican lager. Zing Zang has since added Blazing hot, dill pickle and ready-to-drink canned versions, but this is the original bartenders standardized on.
