Amrut Aatma Cask #5359 is a single cask Indian single malt from Amrut Distilleries in Bangalore, the pioneer of Indian single malt. "Aatma" means soul, and the Aatma series showcases individual casks chosen for their character. This one was distilled in September 2016, matured in a charred virgin French oak cask and bottled in February 2023 at six years old and cask strength, 56.5% ABV. Only 150 bottles were produced, and it is a USA exclusive release. 750ml.
Bangalore's warm climate matures whisky roughly three times faster than Scotland, so six years in fresh charred French oak delivers a whisky that tastes far older: heavy toasted oak, vanilla, dark toffee and baking spice over Amrut's signature tropical fruit and honeyed barley, finishing long and spicy.
