This cask was matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry butt, and it is bottled at cask strength, 56.5% ABV, non chill-filtered and without added color, in a 750ml bottle. Single cask Amrut releases are produced in tiny quantities and rarely last long on the shelf.
Oloroso sherry and Amrut's fast, tropical maturation are a natural pairing. Expect dried fruit, raisins and figs, dark chocolate and walnut, a rich, sticky mouthfeel and warm baking spices of cinnamon and clove, all over the distillery's honeyed barley core, with a long, spicy, sherried finish.
