It is three-cask matured for ten years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak, a layered approach that has become Benriach's signature.
Bottled at 86 proof, The Original Ten is bright and orchard-fresh: juicy peach and green apple up front, then cereal grain, dried apricot, honey and a touch of lemon zest, with cocoa and light oak spice on a crisp, malty finish. The Whiskey Wash scored it 4 out of 5 for its clarity of flavor.
