Dolin Génépy des Alpes Liqueur
Dolin Génépy des Alpes is the legendary alpine herbal liqueur of the Savoie, made by Maison Dolin in Chambéry from a recipe dating to 1821. Génépy is built on a multitude of alpine herbs, the most prominent being génépy petite, a rare variety of artemisia that grows high in the mountains of the Savoie, and Dolin is one of the few houses that employs local farmers to grow its herbs. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is fresh, aromatic and herbal, with a cool, mountain-air character, gentle sweetness and a clean, slightly bitter finish, lighter than Chartreuse. It is the darling of French ski resorts, served on the rocks or with tonic water, and very welcome after a fondue. Bartenders use it in place of Chartreuse in a Last Word or a Bijou, or in a Génépy and tonic with lemon. A taste of the Alps.
