El Gran Legado de Vida Still Strength Blanco Tequila is the undiluted version of the brand's blanco, bottled at 54.5% ABV (109 proof) straight off the still with no water added. It is made at NOM 1123, the Cascahuín distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, under Salvador Rosales Trejo, using 100% Tequilana Weber agave from a single estate in Michoacán harvested at high sugar levels of around 40 Brix. The piñas are cooked in stone and brick ovens, milled on a roller mill, fermented without fibers in open-air stainless steel tanks with deep well water, and distilled twice in a stainless pot still with a copper coil. Tequila Matchmaker reviewers consistently call this the best of the Legado line and one of the top still-strength tequilas on the market, describing cooked agave, minerals, mint, citrus, herbs and anise on the nose and a dense palate of cooked agave, black pepper, anise, minerality, citrus and brine.
