Unlike the rest of the range, where numbers indicate average blend age, the 30 here is a genuine, literal age statement: three full decades aging in ex-bourbon barrels sealed with plantain leaves to slow the brutal tropical angel's share, at the base of the active San Cristóbal volcano in Nicaragua. Bottled at 45% ABV — notably higher than the 40% standard across the range — with no added sugar or additives. Expect an extraordinarily complex nose of antique wood, leather, honeysuckle, dried apricot, toasted coconut, cocoa, and grilled mandarin, opening into a concentrated, almost syrup-like palate of dark toffee, bitter chocolate, tobacco, butterscotch, coffee, and noble rancio, finishing impossibly long and evolving for minutes.
