Habitation Velier is the pure single rum range created in 2015 by Luca Gargano of Velier, the Genoa importer and bottler whose Demerara and Caroni releases turned rum into a collector's category. Every bottle carries the same promise: 100 percent pot still distillation at a single distillery, bottled at or near cask strength with no sugar, no coloring and no additives, with the distillery, mark, vintage and ester count printed plainly on the label.

The lineup reads like a map of the best pot stills in the world. Jamaica is the heart of it, with Hampden and Worthy Park marks like LROK, DOK, WPL and Forsyths WP bottled white and aged, alongside releases from Long Pond and Clarendon. From there it reaches to Haiti, where Velier built its own Providence distillery in Port-au-Prince for high-ester Cristalline-cane rum, and on to Guadeloupe, Barbados, Grenada and New England's Privateer.
