Heaven's Door Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the flagship bourbon from Heaven's Door Spirits, the whiskey company co-founded by Bob Dylan, whose iron-gate sculptures inspired the brand's name and embossed bottle. It is a straight bourbon distilled in Tennessee, made from a mash of 70% corn with the remaining 30% split between rye and malted barley, aged nearly seven years in new American oak and bottled at 90 proof.
The higher rye share gives it a peppery spine under the sweetness. Breaking Bourbon called it an easy sipper with good intensity for its proof and an appealing move from sweet to toasted spice, with orange marmalade, caramel, strawberry nougat, honey, vanilla and oak on the nose, rich caramel, buttered biscuit and cherry on the palate, and a finish of toasted vanilla, burnt caramel and pepper. Heaven's Door describes warm baked bread and cherry on the nose with butterscotch, honey, cinnamon and brown sugar on a thick palate.
