Heaven's Door The Bootleg Series Volume VI is the sixth annual collector's release from Heaven's Door Spirits, the whiskey company co-founded by Bob Dylan, and each volume pairs a rare whiskey with one of Dylan's own paintings on a ceramic bottle. Volume VI, released in December 2024, is a twelve-year-old wheated straight bourbon finished in air-dried, lightly toasted Limousin oak cigar barrels, bottled at 121.16 proof.
The finishing barrels were chosen to evoke aged Brazilian spirits, in keeping with the artwork: Favela Villa Candido, a vibrant painting from Dylan's 2015 Brazil Series inspired by the favelas and painted in the style of Cézanne, in rusty browns, ochres and tonal greens and blues. Heaven's Door describes a rich palate of baking spice, dried fruit and toasted oak with a warm, lingering finish of spice and wood. Twelve-year wheated bourbon at cask strength is rare on its own; with the Dylan art and the limited numbering, the Bootleg Series has become one of the most collected annual releases in American whiskey.
