Jameson 18 Year Old Irish Whiskey is the oldest whiskey in the core Jameson range from Midleton Distillery in County Cork. A blend of pot still and grain whiskeys aged at least eighteen years in bourbon and sherry casks and married in first-fill bourbon barrels, it was re-launched at 46% ABV, up from 40%, which removed the need for chill filtration and gave it a richer texture and more depth.
Expect toffee, dried fruit and nutty sherry on the nose, with the pot still spice and vanilla of the bourbon wood following on a full, smooth palate. The finish is long, warm and gently oaky. It is a slow-sipping whiskey to be poured neat.
