Jameson Triple Triple Irish Whiskey takes Jameson's signature triple distillation and adds two more threes: triple cask maturation and a triple blend of whiskey styles. The pot still and grain whiskeys are aged in ex-bourbon barrels, sherry casks and Málaga wine casks from southern Spain, then blended and bottled at 80 proof. It was originally a travel-retail exclusive before arriving in the US.
The Málaga casks make it noticeably richer and fruitier than Jameson Original: dried fruit, raisin and honey on the nose, a rounded palate of toffee, sweet spice and orchard fruit, and a smooth, lingering finish. It sips well neat or over ice and gives an Irish coffee or a whiskey sour a bit more depth.
