M&H Art & Craft Doppelbock Beer Cask Israeli Single Malt Whisky
M&H Art & Craft Doppelbock Beer Cask is a collaboration between Milk & Honey, Israel's first whisky distillery in Tel Aviv, and Haaretz Brewery, an acclaimed craft brewery at the edge of the Negev Desert. M&H gave the brewery ex-bourbon barrels, Haaretz used them to age a rich, sweet doppelbock for four to six months, and the emptied casks came back to the distillery to mature this single malt. Bottled at cask strength, 58.3% ABV, non chill-filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
The beer cask leaves its mark: malty, bready sweetness, dark caramel and toffee, a touch of dried fruit and cocoa, all over vanilla from the bourbon wood and M&H's fruity spirit, finishing long and warm. It is the kind of creative, small-batch whisky that has made M&H one of the most exciting distilleries outside Scotland. Limited release.
